Collaboration+Community+Literacy: Multi-Writing Workshop This Friday

I’ve been enjoying my work as a curator at Just Book-ish, a fabulous community bookstore. I host a bi-monthly series where I get to be in conversation with people I admire. This has included Dr. Lisa Woolfork of the podcast Stitch, Please; a book club about Percival Everett’s award-winner, James (for which I also wrote the teacher’s guide), and this week, with Rosa Alemán, Creative Lead at BridgeBold and Multimedia Communications Strategist for The Bold Hour Multiwriting Workshop for BIPOC Queer Folx on Friday, June 27 at 6:30 p.m. It’s going to be a lovely time of reading, writing, and making, and I’d love to see you (RSVP HERE)!

The next event is in August, where I’m contemplating a re-reading of Sister Souljah’s The Coldest Winter Ever to see if it still holds up (I think it does). See you soon!

September Update

Hello, everyone: I’ve been doing a few workshops and PD sessions this fall. Please join me if you can. I’d love to see you. Also, if you’d like to work together, please visit the Work With Me link to check on availability. I have some limited availability for the spring and summer of ’24 and would love to make it work. I’ve experienced such great energy working with educators who are digging in to Literacy is Liberation! Finally, I’ve uploaded the most recent columns from Educational Leadership and other publications where you can download them for free; they make great short reads for faculty PD, BTW.
